I have signed up for my first ever marathon!!!!!! I'm so incredibly excited and nervous and excited and scared..........Well you get the idea, lol.
It's the Midsouth Marathon in Wynne on November 7th, a smaller marathon but it is a part of the ARRCA Grand Prix series so that's why it's going to be my first. I kept waffling back and forth on running it so finally went ahead and registered last night. Told James I can't back out now because I'd be out $27.50, yeah I think that's almost the cheapest fee ever for a marathon. I will be running with friends so that's a huge plus. Training starts this week and I think I'm going to use a Runner's World plan but if anybody has any suggestions please, please let me know.

Good luck Gabby both in training and in the marathon. You will do great.
HA..... I knew many months ago, when I asked if you planned on competing in a marathon (you told me NO) that you eventually would do it!! I have the utmost faith and confidence in you!!
You're scaring me, Gabby! If I am gonna follow you girls along on this fitness kick .... bloody MARATHONS ARE NOT part of my plan! Hahahahaha
Good luck!
Thanks Tedybehr!
Terry, so I have you to blame for this madness--what'd you do, buy a voo-doo doll and start chanting Gabby WILL run a marathon?! LOL! Just kidding, you don't know how much your support means to me..Just don't be surprised if I call you in the middle of a long run crying that I'm not going to be able to do it needing emotional support.
Indy, we'll settle for a 1/2 marathon! Bwahahaha
HA.. Yes Gabby, you can blame me. I have several chants I use..Nah! I just knew, you are like the most dedicated and determined person I know. I would give anything to have a tenth of the strength and determination that you have!!
As for Indy, maybe he should start slow... Hmm, how about 5 laps around the truck....everytime you stop...So, Indy are you still meandering about whilst unloading??
Terry,
ummm, I think you actually mean OBSESSIVE and COMPULSIVE!!!ROFLMAO!!!!
I think you have just as much strength and determination as I do if not MORE. You got into the trucking industry without the helping hand that I had from James. If that's not indicative of a strong, determined, successful, awesome woman then I don't know what is. I guess we're just going to have to agree that we both rock, LOL!
Indy,
yeah! what Terry said +5 pushups. LOL!!!

Amen to that! There are few people in this industry that I have more respect for then Terry, and you're just a delight, Gabby.
I am proud to say that I regard both of you as real friends, despite the fact we've not met. As a general rule I can take or leave acquaintances from the internet but your pair are an exception and have my highest regard.
Now ....... in regards to my walks around the truck - YES! I am - and walks away from the truck as well. AT my advancing years we can't be too over exertive! Hahahaha! You girls trying to kill me or something? Hahahaha
