Goal set, goal reached

Three or four months ago I decided that I wanted to drop an additional 5 pounds to get down to 115. As of today I have reached that goal!!!!!!!! Well, actually the scale read 115.4 lbs but I did have 3 slices of pizza just before bed last night (yeah, that's a huge no-no, LOL). Yippeee!!!!!!!!

Don't know for sure yet if dropping the weight will help in the being faster department because I've not been running that many races so far this summer. I will say that the Brickfest 5k time was a bit better than I expected so maybe it is. I do have a 5k on the schedule for next Saturday night but I tend to run the night races slightly slower (it's hotter!) so that probably won't be a good indicator either.

Anyway, since I (finally) met my weight loss goal my next one is to get a sub 24 minute 5k time. Let's see if the body holds up ;-)

115 Lbs is ummmmmm pretty light on I would have thought!

Well ..... given I am closer to 250 hahahahahahahaha

Anyway, congratulations! I am sure this will give a lot of the rest of us additional incentive!

I'm 5'3", and for what I'd like to accomplish training and racing wise I should actually drop another 2-5 pounds. BUT, I like my junk food too much to give it up completely.

YAY!! My goal is 118....But that doesnt seem to be anywhere on the horizon. I am having horrible leg issues, going to the doctor in the morning, yes, it has gotten that bad. Cross your fingers that the doc does not ban me from running.

you'll get there. Hated doing it but I found the only way I could lose the weight was to keep a food log. Just took one of my yellow pads that I use for trip info and mileage and whenever I ate something, I wrote it down immediately. Also bought one of the paperbacks that list calorie count for nearly every food. Tedious yes, but effective.

I think I need to just get serious about it. With the health issues, I have not been so dedicated to either diet or exercise, even if the fewer number of runs were due to extreme anguish..LOL DANG, it always sounds like I am making excuses....ugh...So, after tipping the scale at my highest weight ever (in the doc's office) I am resolved to GET SERIOUS.

No, I don't think it sounds like you're making excuses. It's just life--sometimes we have other things to focus on.

Most of my weight gain occurred when I started driving--not because of inactivity because we did lots of stuff but as a way to try and deflect the attention we get out here when (some) guys see a woman in a big truck. Just didn't like it or know how to deal with it. Shocked the heck out of me when I was getting harrassed more at 150 lbs than at 125.
